L.A. Reid Confirms Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber Collaboration

Epic Records chief LA Reid has revealed that a super exciting duet between the late Michael Jackson and pop superstar Justin Bieber will be unleashed soon. When asked, the music mogul confessed that he is “pretty sure” that Michael and Justin will be singing together on a future release and said the project will be “really special.”

Last year, Jackson and Bieber appeared on an early version of the King of Pop’s “Slave 2 the Rhythm,” which was initially leaked online but later removed. The song was included on Michael’s recently-released posthumous album ‘Xscape,’ but without the “Confident” singer’s vocals. Reid explained that the song will likely return in some form, following the release of ‘Xscape’ this week.

“I signed Justin, so I feel a loyalty. I feel like I should protect him. That’s my relationship with him. But ‘Slave 2 The Rhythm’ didn’t include him per my direction … If it hadn’t been leaked, it would have been featured but it sort of took the wrong turn. But you know what? We’re gonna revisit that,” said Reid.

“We’re going to revisit it and do something really special with Justin Bieber and Michael,” he added.

Michael Jackson’s posthumous album ‘Xscape,’ which was released on Monday, May 12, features eight unreleased tracks produced by several big name producers including Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome “Jroc” Harmon and Jackson estate executor John McClain, and a solo version of ‘Slave 2 the Rhythm’.
