Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV Releases Sunday

Lil Wayne’s new album, Tha Carter IV, will be released this Sunday, August 28th.

This is the first album Lil Wayne has recorded since his incarceration for criminal possession of a weapon.

Starting from scratch after his release, Lil Wayne wrote and recorded the album’s first single “6 Foot 7 Foot” with the intention of writing “a 2010 version of A Milli on steroids.”  The single would be certified 2x platinum and reach as high at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The album’s highest charting single so far is “She Will” featuring Rick Ross, debuting at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.  “She Will” is expected to be performed at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Lil Wayne is definitely giving consumers their money’s worth with over 60 minutes of music and 15 full-length tracks.  Appearances on the album include Cory Gunz, Drake, T-Pain, Tech N9ne, Andre 3000, Rick Ross, John Legend, Jadakiss, Bun B, Nas, Shyne and Busta Rhymes.

Tha Carter IV, Wayne’s ninth studio album, will be available on iTunes at midnight on August 28th.
