In honor of her late husband, René Angélil, who passed away from throat cancer in January, Celine Dion debuted a new emotional song, titled “Recovering.”

The ballad’s lyric, accompanied only by a piano, was written by Pink and describes Dion getting stronger each passing day after losing first her spouse and then her brother shortly after: “Little by little, day-by-day, one step at a time / Shake off the devil / Take back my piece of mind / I am recovering.”

Dion illustrated to Entertainment Tonight that Pink is a “phenomenal” person. “I love her for her talent, for her strength, for her focus, the person she is. At the [Billboard Music Awards] when I saw her, I said, ‘For you to take the time to really write a song, to give me a tool, a piece of luggage to help me to move forward to walk to keep going…’”

“Recovering” is the first single off Dion’s upcoming album, her first English-language album since 2013’s Loved Me Back to Life.

Pink described to Entertainment Weekly that “[Dion] is like a magic light bulb, walking around emanating light into the world.” She added, “I wanted to hear Celine’s soul. She is just simply amazing, and getting to write a song for her is one of the biggest honors of my life.”

Together, Dion and Angélil share three children, René Charles and twins Nelson and Eddy. He was 73.
