Macklemore’s new year resolution for 2015 is to put out a new album.
Macklemore confirmed the news via Twitter after a fan tweeted him ” @loucereal: Its 2015 and I still don’t have a new @macklemore album w*f”. The “Thrift Shop” rapper responded to the complaint by tweeting back ” You will this year. Believe that.”
It’s been almost three years since Macklemore & Ryan Lewis debuted their last album, The Heist, which was released in October 2012. The album included No. 1 tracks “Thrift Shop”, “Can’t Hold Us” and “Same Love”. The duo snagged four Grammy awards which included the categories “Best New Artist” and “Best Rap Album”.
In August of 2013, Macklemore stated that he and Lewis would begin working on a new album once their 2013 tour concluded and the duo was able to take a break.
The new album will be a follow up to the duo’s 2012 The Heist album.
