Nicki Minaj “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” Debuts At #1

Nicki Minaj’s sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. The Queen of Hip Hop sold 253,000 copies in its first week of release. Its the Young Money rapper’s second No. 1 album of her career. The album’s first single “Starships” has already sailed to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Minaj’s previous album Pink Friday premiered at No. 2 on Dec. 11, 2010 with 375,000 copies moved. It eventually climbed to No. 1 after the release of her single “Super Bass”. Minaj’s album knocked Madonna‘s LP MDNA off the top of the Billboard 200 chart after just one week. The Queen of Pop’s album fell dramatically to No. 8 with 48,000 copies sold.

Minaj also has the No. 1 album in the U.K. She is the first female rapper to debut at the top of the U.K. album chart.
