One Direction, Jessie J To Perform at 2012 London Olympics

UK paper the Daily Mail recently got its hands on some leaked documents that reveal the performers during the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.

Take That, Jessie J, One Direction, Tinie Tempah, Pet Shop Boys and the The Who are just a few of the artists that will take the stage during the reported two-hour ceremony on August 12. Russell Brand is scheduled to perform with Absolutely Fabulous creators Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French, and strut of models led by Kate Moss.

Ed Sheeran, Kaiser Chiefs, Fatboy Slim and Annie Lennox are also set to perform.

Also found in the leaked documents is information about the opening ceremony:

“The opening moments of the ceremony will see models of London’s landmarks including Big Ben, the London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral covered in newspaper and unwrapped by a cast of hundreds. The scene is based upon the capital’s rush hour and will have around 300 people hurrying around on cars, scooters and bicycles while lollipop ladies direct traffic and workers drill the roads. Then, in a routine inspired by the film The Full Monty, the lollipop ladies will strip to reveal Union Jack swimsuits to a rendition of the National Anthem.”

The Summer Olympics begins FridayJuly 27, 2012, and ends Sunday,August 12, 2012 airing on NBC.
