Puddle of Mudd Frontman Charged with Cocaine Possession

The lead singer for Puddle of Mudd, Wes Scantlin, has been charged with possession of cocaine stemming from a January 12th arrest.

TMZ first reported that the 39-year-old singer was pulled over on January 12th in Culver City, CA for a traffic violation. In the vehicle police reportedly found him in possession of a controlled substance – some kind of powder and pills.

Now we finally know what that curious little white powder was.  The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office filed their litigation against Scantlin yesterday claiming that Scantlin was in possession of cocaine.  The pills reportedly found in the vehicle during the January 12th arrest were not mentioned at all by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

Maybe the pills were Tylenol.

So what’s the final tally of charges for his January 12th arrest?

  1. Felony charge for possession of a controlled substance
  2. Misdemeanor for being under a controlled substance while driving
  3. AND a misdemeanor for driving without a license.

The Puddle of Mudd lead singer, who has pled not guilty to all of the charges, is set to appear in court next week.

If convicted of all three charges Scantlin could face up to four and a half years in prison.
