StubHub to Begin Producing Their Own Concerts

From now on, brokers and fans will not be the only ones selling tickets through StubHub.  The company announced on Wednesday that they will begin selling tickets for shows produced by themselves.

StubHub already has five shows planned and will host it’s first concert in Los Angeles on May 18. The artist will be announced next week and tickets will go on sale for $60. The shows will be played in Nashville, San Francisco, Chicago and New York City.

StubHub’s chief marketing officer Michael Latting said, “this is about doing something that we can repeat and continue to bring around the country and deliver to fans in as many markets as makes sense.”

The ticket company was launched in 2000 and is now stepping into a business that has been dominated by Live Nation Entertainment and Ticketmaster. It is also kicking off a partnership with Pandora for five free concerts kicking off Wednesday, April 30 with Tokyo Police Club.
