The Wanted Anger Fans Over Fan Club Prices

The Wanted has angered their army of loyal fans after charging an outrageous $158 a year to join their new online fan club Wanted World.

The British boy band’s fans are calling the gimmick “money-grabbing” and a “rip-off.” Several have complained of the outrageous charges, stating that fellow British rockers One Direction and JLS do not charge any fees for joining their fan clubs.

“Wantedworld is a money-grabbing scheme and a total rip-off, and I think it’s taking advantage of fans,” said 17 year old fan Amy Lawson.

Megan Hogg wrote, “The only people that’ll get wantedworld will be fans young enough to beg their parents or fans old enough who have had a job for a while. It’s making most fans who can’t afford it feel like s***.”

Currently fans can purchase the one-year “Platinum” subscription for $158, “Gold” for $63, or use the free version of the website.

A spokesman for the group responded to the criticism on the Daily Star saying “Of course we understand that not all fans will want to or can afford the subscription offering, which is why the existing offering will continue to exist.”

I guess its time for The Wanted fans to go in a new “direction.”
