WATCH: Shawn Mendes Releases Music Video for ‘Treat You Better’

Pop sensation, Shawn Mendes, has released the music video for his latest single ‘Treat You Better’.

‘Treat You Better’ is the first single off Mendes’ sophomore record Illuminate, which is set for release on September 23, 2016.

The video tackles issues of physical and emotional abuse. The ‘Stitches’ singer has never shied away from sensitive topics and the message comes clear;  no one should tolerate abuse!

The singer chases after a girl who is trapped in an abusive relationship. While the boyfriend continues to yell and push the girl around, she still sticks with him.

The emotional and dramatic video ends by displaying the number for the National Domestic Violence Hotline. ‘Treat You Better’ certainly encourages though’s who are in an abusive relation, or know someone who is, to reach out for help.

The single is currently trending on the Billboard charts, and it’s looking to climb up after the music videos release.
