Mike Tyson to Produce Film About His Life
Mike Tyson and his wife Lakiha Spicer are planning to produce a film about the early years of his journey to becoming a heavyweight boxing champion.
The couple hopes to enlist author Larry Sloman to write the screenplay for the film. Sloman previously worked with Tyson to write Undisputed Truth, the former boxer’s autobiography. In addition, Sloman co-wrote Howard Stern’s books Private Parts and Miss America.
Tyson already has some casting ideas in mind. He would like Kevin Spacey to play his mentor Cus D’Amato and Helen Mirren to take on the role of his adoptive mother, Camille Ewald. Spicer added that an unknown actor would be cast as Tyson.
Tyson is no stranger to the world of film, having cameos in The Hangover and The Hangover Part II. His one-man show on Broadway was also the subject of Spike Lee’s cable movie Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth.
