Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor Fight Escalates During UFC 202 Presser

Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor couldn’t wait till Saturday to square off.

Tempers escalated during the UFC 202 press conference in Las Vegas, NV.  Conor showed up 30 minutes late for the presser, which didn’t sit well with Diaz.

A reporter asked Diaz how he felt about the Irish man returning to 145 lbs to defend his title, his response was simply “They’re trying to make an escape route”. Conor would later retract those comments saying “Make no mistake it will be a trilogy fight down the line. It won’t be straight away.”

Nate would then storm off the panel which set McGregor off as well. The war of words ranged from Conor calling his opponents team “Crackhead eses” with Diaz and crew yelling obscenities and middle fingers galore.

It escalated even quicker as water bottles were thrown over the crowd by both opponents. UFC President Dana White quickly canceled the press conference saying “That’s a wrap, get him out of here” while a UFC official pulled the Irishman aside.

After Conor lost to Nate at UFC 196, MMA fans were quick to see a rematch. Fans got their wish for a bout at UFC 200, but the match was shot down. McGregor refused to meet the requirements of the media tour, wanting to focus more on training. Which led to his “retirement” with Diaz wanting to only fight Conor. Both sides would later work things out to face off at UFC 202.

Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz – Part II is on Saturday, August 20 on Pay Per View at 9 pm CST.
