UFC Fight Week: Anderson Silva to Fight Daniel Cormier at UFC 200

UPDATE: ESPN has just reported that Anderson Silva WILL be fighting Daniel Cormier at UFC 200. It will be a non-title match.

After Jon Jones was removed from UFC 200 due to violating the anti-doping policy, Daniel Cormier was left without an opponent.

Several fighters have shown interest, but the decision has come down to three options.

According to TMZ Sports, UFC has decided to go with Gerard Mousasi, Dan Henderson, or Anderson Silva as candidates take on Cormier. While these three options are worth opponents to fill in for Jones, it does change current fight cards and those to come.

Mousasi is set to fight Thiago Santos Saturday night in the preliminary card for UFC 200. The organization would either have to cancel the Gerard fight, or find a replacement to face off against Santos.

Dan Hendorson has rumored to be a contender for Michael Bispings Middleweight Championship. This could change if Hendo takes on DC.

Silva is coming off gall bladder surgery which canceled his fight at UFC 198. Anderson has stated that he is ready to fight, even jumping the gun earlier today.

Nothing has been reported yet on the fate of Jon Jones and his replacement. The decision will be made some time tonight, or tomorrow morning.
