Was This John Cena’s Final Match With The WWE?

It was another amazing WWE event as SummerSlam took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY! With a line of wrestlers such as Brock Lesnar, Sasha Banks, and Roman Reigns set to steal the show, it didn’t compare to the excellent match between “The Phenomal One” AJ Styles and the “Face that Runs the Place” John Cena.

The battle between Cena and Styles has been going on for months, with the match-up notched at 1-1. Both veteran wrestlers decided to settle the feud Sunday night in Brooklyn.

It was a back and forth encounter where finishers were hit and counter moves tested each competitor to their limits. In the end it was AJ Styles who finished off Cena for the one, two, three! As Styles exited the ring, Cena was left tired, limping, and broken.

The crowd clapped for Cena as a thank you for putting on the best match of this years SummerSlam, and arguably one of his best matches of his career. Yet what people are talking about is what happened after the match.

The WWE legend sat in the middle of the ring, took off his arm band that read “Never Give Up”, kissed it, and left in the middle of the ring. As he walked up the ramp to a crowd of cheers, he turned around and saluted the crowd.

What does this mean?!

It is no secret that John Cena is getting older, reaching 15 years with the WWE. Regardless of how old he gets, he still manages to perform at high levels. Yet with up and coming stars such as Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Dean Ambrose more than capable of carrying the company, Cena’s wrestling schedule has dwindled considerably.

Could this mean an exit from the company, a heel change for the 15 time champion, or could this mean a hiatus from the company?

It’s been reported that Cena will be taking a hiatus from wrestling to pursue other ventures. He is currently the host for the show American Grit on FOX and has several projects set to launch this year. Regardless of his projects, Cena has always managed to meet his requirements from the WWE as well as appear in movies, commercials, and TV shows.

Nothing is clear what his actions meant, but Twitter has gone crazy on what’s to come for the WWE and John Cena:
