  • Singer Davy Jones, the youngest member of The Monkees, died Feb. 29 of a heart attack.
  • Children’s book author Dr. Seuss would have celebrated his 108th birthday Friday and just in time for the day, the movie “The Lorax,” based on the Dr. Seuss book of the same name, is released Friday. Actor Danny Devito provides the voice of the title character.
  • The Hobby Center will host the Broadway production of “Million Dollar Quartet” until Sunday, March 4. “Million Dollar Quartet” is based on the early careers of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins in Memphis.
  • The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo performances continue with John Legend during Black Heritage Day on Friday, March 2.
  • Country singer Luke Bryan will perform Saturday, March 3 during RodeoHouston.
  • Teen music group Big Time Rush, featured on the Nickelodeon show of the same name, will entertain the younger RodeoHouston audience to end the weekend on Sunday, March 4.
