‘Breaking Bad’ Spin-off Moving Forward at AMC

Sony Pictures TV and AMC are moving forward with a Breaking Bad spin-off called Better Call Saul.  The show will be a one-hour prequel focused on Bob Odenkirk’s character, Saul Goodman, before he became Walter White’s lawyer in Breaking Bad.

The title for the prequel comes from Saul Goodman’s famous catchphrase repeated numerous times on the Emmy Award-winning show.  The show’s name also comes from the title of the first episode Odenkirk was featured on back in 2009, “Better Call Saul.”  Since his first appearance on the show, Odenkirk’s character has been a fan favorite.

Vince Gilligan, creator and executive producer of Breaking Bad, has been developing the spin-off with co-executive producer Peter Gould.  While a licensing agreement has been reached for Better Call Saul, the series has yet to be ordered.  Once contracts are finalized,  expect AMC to make an official order for the series.

Breaking Bad fans will say goodbye to their beloved characters they have grown to know and love when the series finale airs on September 29.
