Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block and Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees are teaming up to produce a new television series for CBS that’s about a topic they are both very familiar with.

The new show, currently titled Encore, focuses on a boy band that reunites twenty years later. Entourage creator Doug Ellin will write the pilot and is set to executive produce along with Wahlberg and Lachey.

Wahlberg and Lachey came up with the idea for the show during a tour together back in 2013 after discussing how different their lives are today compared to when they were at the height of their stardom.

Wahlberg currently stars in the cop drama Blue Bloods on CBS. He is also busy exec producing A&E’s Wahlburgers which is about his family’s restaurant business and Pop’s reality series Rock This Boat about fans who are obsessed with New Kids on the Block.
