Fox Gets Ratings Boost with Return of ’24’

After 4 years, Jack Bauer has finally returned. 24: Live Another Day‘s two hour premiere aired Monday night to a huge 8.1 million viewers, according to Neilsen ratings. The 12-episode series is what fans have been waiting for the past 4 years during Bauer’s absence.

24‘s premiere scored well beyond last week’s Monday night shows, Bones and The Following, which brought in 4 and 4.8 million viewers respectively. 24‘s Monday night opening trails just behind Sleepy Hollow‘s opening which debuted in September.

Jack Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland, is a fugitive captured with ease in London by an American team led by Steve Navarro (Benjamin Bratt). Only one agent, the recently disgraced Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski), thinks Jack must be up to something. He must come out of hiding to stop a massive terrorist attack dispatched by President James Heller (William Devane).

24: Live Another Day airs on Mondays on FOX at 8pm (CST).
