Is Steve Jones Getting Axed from ‘The X-Factor’?

The rumor mill is swirling today with reports that X-Factor host Steve Jones may be cut from the show next season.

According to a source by The Mirror UK, “Steve keeps saying that living in LA is a dream come true. He loves the weather and the women, and he loves working on X Factor – it’s just a shame that the US public has not warmed to him.  He got terrible reviews from critics when he started and things haven’t got better. There have been mistakes and he just doesn’t seem to have the knack for dealing with contestants.  The executives at Fox have already decided not to renew his contract and so, short of a miracle happening, it is pretty much a done deal that he will not take part next season.”

On the other hand, Steve Jone’s publicist is stating that all the rumors of his exit are speculation.  “The Mirror story is a fabrication that we would have corrected had we been called for comment. There have been absolutely no conversations about Steve Jones Leaving “The X Factor.” Steve is very happy with the outcome of this season and he looks forward to being back and discovering more talent in the new year.”

BackstageOL staff writer and X-Factor reviewer Ruben Dominguez stated, “I would be surprised if the rumors were true.”  Dominguez spent a lot of time with Jones in Los Angeles before the show launched and was convinced that he would become a “break out star”.  “He could not have been more professional and the perfect choice,” said Dominguez.  “There was enough new stuff about him (Hollywood-looks/British-accent) that he wouldn’t become just another Ryan Seacrest.”

An X-Factor spokesperson stated, “No discussions have been had and no decisions will be made about any new contracts until the new year.”
