London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony

What to expect at tomorrow night’s London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony.

An estimated 1 billion people will be watching the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony tomorrow night. Athletes from all corners of the world will officially open the summer games of the 30th Olympiad. The ceremony show , created by Danny Boyle (Oscar winning director of “Slumdog Millionaire” and “Trainspotting”), titled this years opening ceremony as “Isles of Wonder”.

Danny Boyle has a good show in store for the 62,000 people in the stadium and for the millions at home. Boyle will show a special short film that will feature actor Daniel Craig to play the role of James Bond and Queen Elizabeth II to play her natural role. After the short film the official opening of the ceremony will begin with a ringing of a bell, which is the largest bell ever cast in Europe.

The stadium will be transformed in a British country side scenery with meadows and live animals. 86 musical tracks will be played throughout the ceremony mixed by the techno group Underworld including themes from “Chariots of Fire,” “London Calling” by The Clash, “Firestarter” by The Prodigy, the Eton Boating Song and the theme from the English drama series “The Eastenders.” Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney confirmed that he will end the opening ceremony with a musical performance. Rumors are that he will include a sing-along version of the 1968 Beatle hit “Hey Jude”.

Of course as always an extravagant show of fireworks will end the opening ceremony.

The Opening Ceremony starts Friday July 27th at 6:30 Primetime on NBC.
