Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ Renewed for Second Season

A week and a half after the first season of Daredevil made its debut on Netflix, the Marvel series has already been picked up for a second season.

However, showrunner Steven S. DeKnight will not be returning. Instead, Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy) will be taking on that role. Both Petrie and Ramirez worked on the first season of the show.

“While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season, I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch,” DeKnight stated in Marvel’s press release. “They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can’t wait to see what they do with the show moving forward.”

The new season will hit Netflix in 2016. Many other new Marvel shows will also soon be airing on the streaming service including A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.
