PBS’ Documentary ‘Hamilton’s America’ Releases First Teaser

“What started as a single song, would become a revolutionary musical.”

PBS’ Hamilton’s America documentary is coming soon!

The 30-second trailer, released Thursday (September 21st), provides a glimpse into the documentary that is due out next month. Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of the Tony Award-winning Broadway Hamilton, gives details about how long it took for him to work on it (about a year) and how it quickly became a Broadway sensation.

“It opened on Tuesday and the world blew up,” said Miranda in the clip.

In the teaser, President Barack Obama is shown joking with Miranda, stating, “When you told us, ‘I’m going to do a rap about Alexander Hamilton, we said, ‘Well, good luck with that.'”

The 90-minute special, Hamilton’s America, debuts Friday, October 21st at 8p.m. CST on PBS.
