‘South Park’ to Mock Redskins Name Controversy in Season 18

It looks like Washington Redskin’s owner Dan Snyder is about to take on his toughest adversary yet: Eric Cartman.

Despite the increase of scandals within the NFL, the Washington Redskins name controversy isn’t going anywhere. South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker are planning to troll that subject in an upcoming episode during the show’s eighteenth season.

After the Washington Redskins lose their trademark, Eric Cartman decides to capitalize on the situation by naming his new company the Washington Redskins. In the preview, a furious Dan Snyder barges into Cartman’s office claiming the use of the term is offensive and derogatory to the team while Cartman claims the use of the term is out of deep respect and admiration of the organization – an obvious satire of the current scandal between some Native American groups and the team.

As a way to really troll fans, Comedy Central reportedly only bought advertising for the spot in the Washington D.C. market, only infuriating fans further.
