TNT’s Dallas Cancelled After Three Seasons

TNT’sDallas has been dropped by the network after three seasons.

“We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga,” a TNT spokesperson released in a statement. “We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”

The remake of the popular 1980s soap opera starred original cast members Larry Hagman (who passed away in November 2012), Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy. The show initially obtained ratings of 6.9 million viewers when it launched and was quickly renewed for two more seasons. Over time the show’s ratings dropped to a low of 2.66 million viewers, resulting in the program’s cancellation.

After the announcement of the cancellation, star Linda Gray posted on her Twitter account, “Thank all of you wonderful fans for your love and support for these past 3 seasons. We were just canceled. So sad!”
