Here are the Top 5 Olympic Athletes to watch at the London 2012 Olympics, according to Fox Sports.

1. Michael Phelps (Swimming)

Michael Phelps will be in the pool for the first of his seven planned events on Saturday as he faces rival Ryan Lochte in the 400-meter individual medley (preliminaries are at 5 a.m. ET, final at 2:30 p.m. ET).

2. Usain Bolt (Track & Field)

The preliminaries for the men’s 100 meters won’t be run until Aug. 4 (5 a.m. ET).

3. Ryan Lochte (Swimming)

Saturday will feature the first battle of the heavyweights between Ryan Lochte and rival Michael Phelps, as the two are set for a showdown in the 400 IM (preliminaries are at 5 a.m. ET, final at 2:30 p.m. ET).

4. Hope Solo (Soccer)

Off day after goalie Hope Solo and the rest of the US women’s soccer team rallied to defeat France 4-2 in their Olympic opener Wednesday at Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland. The next game for Solo and the US will be Saturday against Colombia, also at Hampden Park (kickoff at noon ET).

5. Lebron James (Basketball)

Is the current men’s basketball team really better than the original Dream Team from 1992? Team USA will begin to make its case Sunday as LeBron James and the US Mens Basketball Team take on France in the first of five preliminary-round games (tipoff scheduled for 9:30 a.m. ET).
