Trevor Noah Replaces Jon Stewart On ‘The Daily Show’ Tonight

Tonight (Monday) – South African comic Trevor Noah’s will take over Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, replacing Jon Stewart as the new host.

“I’m having nightmares,” Noah, 31, told The Associated Press recently. “It’s terrifying, it really is. But it’s also extremely exciting. I’m trying to enjoy every moment of it.” Comedian Kevin Hart will be Noah’s guest for his first show.

Stewart gave Noah his blessings as his successor, saying in a previous statement, “He’s a tremendous comic and talent that we’ve loved working with… In fact, I may rejoin as a correspondent just to be a part of it!!!”

The comedian will have an abundance of topics to comment on, from the 2016 election cycle to the recent visit from Pope Francis. He said that he is prepared for his “first date with the Daily Show audience.”

“We’re going to spend that first episode really getting to know each other,” he told Vulture. “And the best way to get to know each other on any date is to talk about things, and figure out how you feel about each other.”

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah premieres Monday, September 28th, at 11/10c on Comedy Central. And if you want to see Noah perform The Daily Show theme song, check out this clip below:
