New Music Releases- July 12, 2011

It’s Tuesday…and that means NEW MUSIC!

Here is a rundown on what is out today:

Blake Shelton “Red River Blue”

Yes, he was a musical coach on “The Voice”. He also is the current CMA Male vocalist of the year. Oh, and this is his ninth album produced by multi-award winner Scott Hendricks. The first release “Honey Bee” is Shelton’s fastest rising single ever. This will probably debut at number one. I called it.

Yes “Fly From Here”

Maybe some of you remember “Owner of a Lonely Heart”.  That was produced bv Trevor Horn. Horn is back for this, the FIRST full album release for Yes in 10 years.

Yes has won Grammys and is called one of the most influential bands of all time. They’ve sold more than 33 millions worldwide. They’ve earned that title.

Incubus “If Not Now, When?”

DISCLAIMER! I AM AN INCUBUS FAN! Ok, there, I’ve said it.

Even though I am a fan, I have been critical of the first single (“Adolescents”) from this new collection of tunes from Brandon Boyd and Company.

Despite that, I am still excited to hear the entire album and look forward to seeing them live again. This band DOMINATES live in concert.

Boyd said of this 6th studio album from Incubus, “By about three songs into the writing process, I think we began to understand that we were unearthing something new.

“If Not Now, When? is our unabashed, romantic, lush, sonic love letter to the world. It s darker, slower, more rich, more refined, and more involved than anything Incubus has birthed to date.”

Colbie Caillat “All Of You”

It has been a little over a year since Caillat released her multi platinum SMASH album “CoCo”. This new set contains the lead single “I Do”, which Caillat says is about her ongoing relationship with her guitartist. (Editorial comment: They better stay together throughout the tour or it could get AWKWARD…).

One other new release of note…The NEW (and final) Harry Potter movie is out Friday. The soundtrack is out today.
