What a way to start a week. Disney has unveiled the name for the eighth installment in the Star Wars franchise.
Following 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the new episode, which arrives in theaters on December 15, 2017, will be titled Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Rian Johnson, who has helmed the films Brick and Looper, is the writer and director of the latest sequel which will continue the story of Rey (Daisy Ridley), who found herself the key figure in The Force Awakens. That film ended in cliffhanger fashion when Rey encounters Luke Skywalker.
