Broadway Stars Perform ‘What The World Needs Now Is Love’ At The DNC

At the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Wednesday (July 27th), Broadway stars – from Audra McDonald, Idina Menzel and Brian Stokes Mitchell – joined together on stage to perform Orlando single “What The World Needs Now Is Love.”

More than 40 performers gathered on stage in unity against gun violence to sing the song, which was first recorded to honor the victims from June’s Orlando nightclub massacre. The single rose to the top spot on the iTunes chart and landed on the Billboard Hot 100. All of the proceeds from the song will benefit the LGBT Center of Central Florida.
