‘American Idol’ Top 7 Finalists Remain

The top eight “American Idol” finalists competed, but only seven could remain.

Singers DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone were in the bottom three, but in the end, Brackensick was the contestant eliminated from the top finalists roster.

“American Idol” judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler did not opt to save Brackensick from elimination, so that option remains for future rounds.

Cavanagh, 18, from McKinney, Texas, Joshua Ledet, from Westlake, La., and Skylar Laine from Mississippi, are the three remaining finalists who originally auditioned in Galveston.

As the finalists waited to learn who would be eliminated, they and the audience were treated to guest performances by country singer Kellie Pickler, who was a finalist during the fifth season of “American Idol,” and The Wanted, who performed the song “I’m Glad You Came.”

FOX 26 reporter Ruben Dominguez and Dave Morales from Backstage OL analyze the elimination in this edition of ‘Idol Chatter.’
