Fox Greenlights Axe Cop For Animation Domination HD Saturday Block

FOX will debut its Animation Domination HD block on 11-12:30 am in the Saturday night time slot in the first quarter of 2013.

The new animation unit will launch in late January and generate programming for the new block and various digital platforms.  Fox has aquired rights to the hit online comic Axe Cop.

There have been six quarter-hour episodes produced of the animated version of the comic. Axe Cop is one of four six-episode quarter-hour animated series that is planned to be introduced in the block during its first year on the air.  There will also be 50 short-form shows that are about 1 to 3 minutes each.

Arin Hanson and Marc Moceri have been brought in-house to work from popular YouTube channels . Their goal is to expand the show into a half-hour series in its second season.
