Netflix is bringing back its original series, Lilyhammer, for a third season, the company announced Monday.
Lilyhammer is about a New York mobster who must enter the witness protection program and live in Lillehammer, Norway after testifying against his former mobsters. However, in the second season his mobsters find out he is still alive.
Season 2 premiered in December, with eight episodes and the third season will premiere later this year.
Steven Van Zandt stars as Frank “The Fixer” Tagliano in the dramedy (dramatic comedy).
“We are proud to bring back Lilyhammer for a third season,” Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. “Lilyhammer is the type of global show that Netflix members around the world have discovered and love and Season 3 will see that world expand even more.”
