‘The Get Down’ To Return This April

Netflix has debuted a new clip for The Get Down Part II, which announces when fans of the Baz Luhrmann and Stephen Adly Guirgis hip-hop musical drama can expect a new season.

Fans won’t have to wait too long; TGD will return on April 7th.

Part II is set in 1978, a year after the debut season. The setting remains South Bronx and as disco is reigning supreme, six talented kids are making waves as part of the hip-hop movement. The Get Down had a limited-run season of six episodes in 2016.

A well-received coming-of-age story with hip-hop, the production has been a risky gamble for Netflix but the streaming service is banking on audiences bingeing this new season before “getting down” to some hip-hop classics on the dance floor.

Watch the promo and let us know if you are anticipating the new season.
