George Zimmerman Key Witness Recants Testimony: ‘He’s A Murderer’

The man who once stood up for George Zimmerman before and during his trial is now claiming the man to be a “racist murderer.”

Frank Taaffe, Zimmerman’s former neighbor and fellow neighborhood watch volunteer, told News 13 Orlando that he believes Zimmerman should have been found guilty in the shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

“What I know of George and his tendencies and also my opinion is that he racially profiled Trayvon Martin that night because if that had been a white kid on a cell phone, walking through our neighborhood, he wouldn’t have stayed on him the way he did and that’s a fact and I believe that in my heart,” said Taaffe.

During Taffee’s interview, a reporter had asked the man what he had to gain from expressing this. The man replied, “I’m just working on me right now and getting right with God,” and that he just wants to clear his conscience. “I can only ask for the country to forgive me and today I believe the he racially profiled him based on the color of his skin.”

“I’m sorry you lost your son, I know what that’s like and I wish things had been different,” said Taaffe to Trayvon’s parents.

Both Zimmerman and his brother Robert have declined comments on the matter.

George Zimmerman was found not guilty of second-degree murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last July. Since then, the Department of Justice has opened an investigation into the death of the young boy to see if any civil rights were violated.
