Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Trial Begins

On the morning of April 29, 2013, the opening statements between the Jackson family and the entertainment company AEG Live were read in a small Los Angeles court room.

The Jacksons believe the death of their beloved Michael back in 2009, is to be blamed on AEG and is demanding forty billion dollars, the amount he was predicted to earn if his life had not been taken. Allegedly the lawsuit states that AEG had hired local Houstonian Dr. Conrad Murray to ensure the King of Pop made it to work as well as to control as much of him as possible. The Jackson family will also argue that the entertainment company had known that Michael was in poor health throughout the preparation of the tour. The Jackson family believes that AEG is liable for the death of Michael because they had allegedly pressured Murray as well as Michael into their rigorous schedule in order to prepare for the upcoming shows of his comeback tour, “This Is It”.

On the defensive side, AEG will be defending its self by arguing that Michael, being an adult, was reasonable for his own death.  Also, AEG claims he chose Murray to be his physician and that his battle with drugs lead him down a road of pernicious choices. The entertainment company will also argue that Michaels doctor, Conrad Murray, was never an employee of AEG but was in fact chosen and paid by Michael himself  for nearly four years until his life was taken.

Today the Jacksons will call their first witness, Orlando Martinez, the Los Angeles Police detective who investigated Michael Jackson’s death.

The trail is predicted to take three months, where a jury will decide were the millions or even billions could end up.
