Josh Brolin Comments on Deleted GANGSTER SQUAD Theater Shooting Scene

In a recent interview with BackstageOL’s Jake Hamilton of “Jake’s Takes”, Gangster Squad star Josh Brolin commented on a scene that was cut out of the movie after the July 2012 shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

“Before the tragedy in Colorado I saw a trailer for this movie and was just blown away by what looked like an amazing scene shot in a movie theater,” Hamilton asked Brolin. “Obviously, due to circumstances, they had to end up cutting it out and re-shooting a sequence.  Thinking about how great that sequence looked, is there any part of you that is disappointed it is not in the movie?”

“Not at all,” Brolin remarked.  “I’m not disappointed.  I think the eeriness of the similarity of the scene and what really happened was just unprecedented, so I don’t think it needed to be in there.  I was very happy about their decision, very supportive of their decision and I actually like the scene that it’s replaced with better.”
