‘Entourage’ Movie Update: Warner Bros. Gives the Green Light

The boys are back!  Warner Bros. has finally given the green light for the Entourage movie, based on the 2004-2011 HBO series.  Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven are all expected to reprise their roles as Vincent Chase, Eric “E” Murphy, Johnny Drama, Turtle and super-agent Ari Gold.

“Well, you got what you wanted; an Entourage Movie,” Adrian Grenier tweeted when the news became official.

The HBO series creator Doug Ellin wrote the film’s screenplay and will direct the film.  Mark Wahlberg, who the series is partially based on, will executive produce the film alongside Stephen Levinson.

Although deals are still being made, I would expect Lloyd (Rex Lee), Sloan (Emmanuel Chriqui), Scott (Scott Caan), Billy Walsh (Rhys Coiro), Mrs. Gold (Perrey Reeves) and Barbara Miller (Beverly D’Angelo) to all make appearances in the film.

The movie will pick up six months after the HBO series ended.  Will Ari take the Chairman/CEO job offer to head one of the most powerful entertainment conglomerates in the world or does he remain in Italy to mend his broken marriage?

Knowing series creator Doug Ellin, there will be cameo appearances by a plethora of Hollywood elite and sports figures, insanely wild party scenes, flashy exotic cars and plenty of beautiful women featured in the film.

There is no official date on when the film will be released but I’d expect them to start filming sometime this year.  I’d anticipate a possible Summer 2014 release, but that’s only speculation.

So if you haven’t caught up on all the past episodes, now’s your chance!
