Hollywood Legend Jack Nicholson Retires From Acting

Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson is retiring from acting after five decades in the movie business.  The 76-year-old actor has no plans to appear in any future films and is looking forward to a relaxing retirement.

“Jack has — without fanfare — retired,” RadarOnline announced in an exclusive this morning.  “There is a simple reason behind his decision — it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.”

Nicholson’s last film was the 2010 romantic comedy How Do You Know, starring alongside Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson.

The three-time Academy Award winner made his film debut in 1958’s The Cry Baby Killer.  Over a film career of 52 years, Nicholson become an iconic name in Hollywood by starring in over 70 films.  His most notable works include Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, The Last Detail, Chinatown, The Passenger, The Shining, A Few Good Men, As Good As It Gets, About Schmidt, The Departed and Anger Management, among others.

Nicholson is the most nominated male actor in Academy Awards history with a record-setting 12 Oscar nominations: eight for Best Actor and four for Best Supporting Actor.

“Jack has no intention of retiring from the limelight,” RadarOnline’s source claims.  He will still be very visible at various public events including the Hollywood party circuit, the Academy Awards, and, of course, in his court side seats watching his beloved Lakers.

“He’s not retiring from public life, at all. He just doesn’t want a tribute,” the insider adds. “He’s happy to tacitly join the retirees club like Sean Connery.”
