‘Now You See Me’ Sequel In The Works

This summer’s hottest heist movie Now You See Me, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Mark Ruffalo, has a sequel in the works.

Released in May in the U.S. and in the UK in July, Now You See Me has grossed $255 million worldwide from an estimated $75 million budget, becoming this summers hottest heist movie.

Directed by Louis Leterrier (Clash Of The Titans, The Incredible Hulk) and produced by the duo Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek Into Darkness/The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Now You See Me is about a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances and reward their audiences with the money.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer revealed on Friday that the studio is currently developing a sequel, with plans to release the second installment in 2014. Variety reports that the studio hopes the sequel will gross around $275 million worldwide.

At the moment, the studio has not yet confirmed if the original Now You See Me cast, which includes Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine, Isla Fisher and Morgan Freeman, will return for the sequel in 2014.
