‘Oblivion’ Rocks Weekend Box Office with $38.2 Million

Tom Cruise’s “Oblivion” had a very successful opening weekend, leaving all the other films at the box office in the dust.

After five weeks “The Croods” are still going strong with a total gross of $155 million.  Thanks to the 3D re-release of “Jurassic Park,” the film has now earned more than 6 times its budget.  “Oz the Great and Powerful” is still a big money make with a box office total of $224 million.

Below are the top 10 films from this weekend’s box office:

1. “Oblivion” – $38.2 million

2. “42” – $18 million

3. “The Croods” – $9.5 million

4. “Scary MoVie” – $6.3 million

5. “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” – $5.78 million

6. “The Place Beyond the Pines” – $4.75 million

7. “Olympus Has Fallen” – $4.5 million

8. “Evil Dead” – $4.1 million

9. “Jurassic Park 3D” – $4.01 million

10. “Oz the Great and Powerful” – $3.05 million
