According to reports from Deadline.com, the Disney studios are eyeing Tom Hanks to play the role of Walt Disney in a movie titled “Saving Mr. Banks.”
“Banks” is the true story that follows Disney’s attempts to bring the now classic “Mary Poppins” to the big screen.
Also rumored to be a part of this project is actress Emma Thompson, who is in talks to portray P.L. Travers, the Australian author behind “Poppins.”
Travers was known for her battles with Disney to stop his attempts to option the book.
“The Blind Side” director, John Lee Hancock, is set to direct “Saving Mr. Banks.”
