Adele to Perform “Skyfall” at Academy Awards

It has been confirmed that Adele will perform her Oscar-nominated song “Skyfall” at the 85th Academy Awards on Sunday, February 24th. This will be the first time Adele has performed “Skyfall” in a live setting since she gave birth to her son Simon last October.

The James Bond theme is nominated for “Best Original Song” against contenders Les Miserables’ “Suddenly”, Ted’s “Everybody Needs A Best Friend”, Life of Pi’s “Pi’s Lullaby” and Chasing Ice’s “Before My Time”. “Skyfall” is the first Jame Bond theme song to be nominated for an Oscar since 1982’s “For Your Eyes Only” sung by Sheena Easton.

The hit single has already won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and a Critics Choice Award for Best Song. “Skyfall” is currently nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Single and a Satellite Award for Best Original Song, in addition to the Oscar nomination.
