Pop singer Selena Gomez is planning to take a break from her music career to focus on acting “for a really long period of time.”
“I’m a woman so I change my mind all the time. One day I want to do acting and just that, and then other times I just want to do music and just that, so it changes,” Gomez told Us Weekly last week while promoting her new movie, Getaway.
“But this is my last record for a while. I’m going to tour it and then I’m going to just kind of get into acting for a really long period of time, hopefully.”
It was only a short few weeks ago when Gomez released Stars Dance – her debut solo album – marking her first Billboard 200 chart-topper. Now, after scooping up the award for Best Pop Video at the MTV Video Music Awards for her infectious single “Come and Get It,” the singer is already poised for a hiatus.
Gomez has a lot of ground left to cover for the Stars Dance world tour before she can head back to the set. She has dates set across Europe and Russia before hitting U.S. venues in October.
Selena Gomez will perform her final show of the tour in St. Louis on November 27.
