The Wanted announced via Twitter that their U.S. debut album will hit shelves April 24. The U.K. group’s “Glad You Came,” vaulted from No. 23 to No. 5 on last week’s Hot 100 chart after it was covered on the Feb. 21 episode of “Glee.” The group has released two albums in the U.K., both of which have reached the top five on the Official U.K. Albums chart.

Group member Jay McGuiness told DigitalSpy.com that they have been recording new songs for the album with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. “My guess would be we’ll take some songs from the first album, some from the second and add some new ones in too, just so everyone is on the same page.” said McGuiness.

The group (Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes) is currently on tour throughout U.K. and Ireland but plan to return to the U.S. soon to promote their new album.

Once The Wanted returns to the US they will be busy performing at The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on March 20, mtvU’s spring break festivities on April 2, NBC’s Today Show on April 24 and ABC’s The View on April 25.

The quintet made its American TV debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Jan. 10. and have been blowing up the Billboard charts ever since.
