Tiësto is calling Las Vegas his new home after committing to a long-term residency with MGM.
During the 20-month deal, Tiësto will perform more than 20 daytime shows at the Wet Republic outdoor pool and more than 40 gigs at the new five-level Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub. Don’t expect this world famous DJ to be performing shows to a small crowd every night, the new restaurant/night club holds around 7,000 people.
Tiësto’s residency begins in April 2013 where he plans to deliver a newly customized show each week.
“I think nowadays, with people having mobile phones and the Internet, you have to be even more aware that people see the show even before they come. You have to make sure you can always surprise them every time you do a production,” Tiësto says.
To keep audiences on their toes, Tiësto wants to bring in fresh new talent to perform with him every week. “I love that I can bring some of the new DJs to my home,” he says. “I want to have new DJs every week there.”
