Shain Gandee, one of the stars on MTV’s reality show Buckwild, was found dead along with his uncle and a third unidentified person on Monday near Sissonville, West Virginia, a community 15 miles outside of Charleston.
The trio were reportedly off-roading in a 1984 Ford Bronco after leaving Larry’s Bar in Sissonville, WV on Sunday Morning at 3 AM, according to Jalopnik. The vehicle was found Monday morning a few miles from Gandee’s home by a man who was riding his four wheeler in the area. The three bodies found in the vehicle were all unresponsive.
“It’s a very sad day for the Sissonville area and for these families,” Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper told the media today. “This is a small community, and most of us know directly members of these families. We’re keeping them in our hearts and prayers.”
MTV released a statement saying, “We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly.”
Kanawha County Sheriffs Department does not expect any foul play to be involved. TMZ is reporting that carbon monoxide poisoning could be the cause of death.
