Jay Leno Courted For Post-‘Tonight Show’ Gig

Late night talk show host Jay Leno will be without a job this February when NBC hands the Tonight Show over to Jimmy Fallon.

With the iconic host expected to be without a job, he has been confronted by many suitors offering him a new gig. CNN President Jeff Zucker is among the high profile suitors anxious to sign the 63-year-old.  Before Zucker took over, CNN had been searching for a host for a late-night comedy program that would fall along the lines of The Daily Show.

Among the 10 suitors courting the soon to be free agent are Tribune, American Idol producer Core Media Group and former NBC chief Jeff Gaspin.

An unlikely option the host will take would be to remain with NBC, but in a new role. Entertainment charman Bob Greenblatt said he’ll make a good push: “Nothing would make my happier than to find ways to keep him involved with this network. That’s really up to him.”

Leno and his attorney have said to be refusing offers until the 63-year-old has fulfilled his obligations to NBC on February 6th.
