Oscar Ratings Up, MacFarlane Says No To Round Two

The ratings are in and they are good for the broadcast of the 85th Academy Awards. The Oscars drew an estimated U.S. audience of 40.3 million viewers, up one million from last years show. This also made it the most watched Oscars in three years.

In the coveted 18-49 demographic, viewers were up by 11 percent.

Does this mean a return for host Seth MacFarlane? If his tweets post-Oscar mean anything, the answer is no. MacFarlane responded to a Twitter follower who asked if we would return by tweeting, “”No way. Lotta fun to have done it, though.”

There is good news, however. During the Oscars broadcast, MacFarlane confirmed what had already been reported- a sequel to “Ted.” He also has a Western comedy coming soon titled “A Million Ways to Die in the West.”
