Prince Michael Jackson Takes Gig As Entertainment Reporter

The first son of the late-Michael Jackson has taken his first “real” job as an entertainment reporter for Entertainment Tonight.  The 16-year-old decided to take the gig after receiving coaching lessons from ET’s Brooke Anderson.

“We have a mutual connection, and I have been working to do something with him for a while,” Anderson told PEOPLE of her experience working with Prince.  “I thought interviewing the cast of Oz the Great and Powerful would be the perfect opportunity, because he’s a fan of The Wizard of Oz, his dad was in The Wiz.”

Since his father’s death in 2009, Prince has stepped out of the shadows and into the Hollywood limelight to establish himself as more than just the son of “The King of Pop.”  At the age of 12 he accepted the Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of his father in 2010.

Now Prince has decided it’s his time for a shot at the big leagues!

“I’m looking to become well-rounded as a producer, director, screenwriter and actor,” Prince said in his report for ET on the upcoming Disney film Oz the Great and Powerful.  During the interview Prince asked the film’s director Sam Raim, and stars James Franco and Zach Braff, for some advice on those who are just getting into the entertainment industry.

So what did Prince think of his new reporting gig?

“I’ve been raised around stuff like this so it was different being the interviewer instead of the one being interviewed,” Prince said.

Prince’s debut interview with the cast of Oz the Great and Powerful airs tonight on ET.
