Six ‘American Idol’ Finalists Remain

After the top seven “American Idol” finalists competed for the second consecutive week, only six singers remained.

Singers Colton Dixon, Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone were in the bottom three, but in the end, Dixon gathered the least amount of votes from the public.

Because “American Idol” judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler used ‘the save’ for Jessica Sanchez one week earlier, Dixon was sent home with no opportunity to return.

Joshua Ledet, from Westlake, La., Cavanagh, 18, from McKinney, Texas, and Skylar Laine from Mississippi, are the three remaining finalists who originally auditioned in Galveston.

As the finalists waited to learn who would be eliminated, they and the audience were treated to guest performances by dance music LMFAO and Kris Allen, who won the eighth season of “American Idol” .

Dave Morales from Backstage OL analyzes Dixon’s elimination in this edition of ‘Idol Chatter.’
